The festivities for the 25th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort spanned from October 1, 1996, to January 31, 1998. During this time, Cinderella Castle underwent a magical transformation, becoming a colossal pink birthday cake adorned with faux icing, lollipops and gumdrops. Adding to the enchantment, the castle boasted 26 candles – one for each of the 25 years and an extra for prosperity.
