Hi! I’m Ruth and I live in the UK. I’ve always been fascinated by the 80s/90s era. I love all things nostalgia and of course, NKOTB! 🙂

When did you start your account?

I started my NKOTB fangirl IG account in February 2024.

When did you start your podcast?

I started my podcast in May 2024.

What inspired you to start a podcast?

I started this podcast simply just for fun. I love talking about NKOTB but don’t know anyone who shares the same interest. I figured that I would just chat about them on a podcast – the bonus is getting to meet like-minded fellow fangirls (and fanboys) like me who are just as happy to indulge in all things NKOTB related!

How long have you been a new kids fan?

Nearly 11 years!

What sort of fun can we expect on the podcast?

Lots of chats about NKOTB with fellow “blockheads”.

Do you collect any NKOTB merch?

Yes! I collect merch from back in the day as I was too young to experience the craze back then.

What would your NKOTB room look like?

Lots of fun pics with the guys and other fans that I’ve met through going to more events. I’d definitely have all my merch stored in there and lots of confetti!

I’d at least start with the basics seeing as I’ve barely got started with living my best NK life!

Who is your favorite new kid?

Jordan and Donnie but that’s a tough one because I love them all, so I’d say I’m an all-rounder! 🙂

Have you gone to their concerts or other fun? Tell us about it

I haven’t been to any of their concerts or events yet. However, I’m super excited to be going to 2 shows this summer for the first time! I went to the Solo Joe gig in London last summer and it was amazing. He was so good at engaging the audience and I loved how intimate the venue was. It motivated me to make more of an effort to go to NK related events, even if it means travelling across the pond more often.

Did you ever call the new kids on the block phone lines back in the day?

Nope! I was far too young. I could barely walk or talk yet.

Tell us some things you learned about NKOTB through your podcast research

How much they mean to the fans beyond the fluffy stuff. It’s something that people outside of the bubble probably wouldn’t fully understand. I love hearing fan stories because although some of the stories are similar, they are all equally unique and exciting to hear about.

Fav tv apperance?

Hard to pick a favourite so I’d say all TV appearances are my fave because we only get a handful of them each year.

Podcasts you love to listen to?

I love any nostalgia related podcast and all of the other nkotb podcasts – such as: Frosted Tips with Lance Bass Club Rewind My So-Called Whatever Dope Nostalgia Podcast Not a podcast but love Rattail too!

What other music do you like to listen to?

I listen to every genre of music and my playlists are a mix of everything. I’m very open-minded when it comes to music and I’ve never been a music snob, in the sense that I don’t really care who’s singing it, I just like it for what it is. Most would say I’m a massive pop lover though!

Do you enjoy anything else in the nostalgic realm?

Yes! Everything basically. I love seeing how people lived back then and what people were into. I used to love watching the performances from Disney’s All-New Mickey Mouse Club (MMC) from the 80s/90s era. I particularly loved the not so well-known band that came out of it called The Party. I also love watching old school TV/films from the 80s/90s.
